We were delighted to participate in IDB Invest Sustainability Week 2024 this June in Manaus, Brazil, joining over 900 on-site local, regional and global participants from across sectors and more than 15,000 online registrants for three days of enlightening conversations about sustainability and impact in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Impact Principles’ Advisory Board member Alessandro Maffioli from IDB Invest moderated a panel titled "Impact Management as a Conduit for Scaling Capital Mobilization and Impact," and he was joined by the Head of Secretariat Joohee Rand and Rocio Zeballos Alban from BlueOrchard Finance Ltd and Marina Albuquerque from BTG Pactual.
The panel discussion of the Secretariat and Signatories active in the region’s growing impact ecosystem focused on how the impact integrity, rigor and transparency enabled by Impact Principles can serve as a driving force for mobilizing private capital towards impact in Latin America and the Caribbean by enabling investor confidence and elevating best practices in impact management. The panel also discussed the importance of addressing inequities in capital allocation and the need to ensure that emerging market investors and stakeholders who are at proximity to the challenges and solutions- from climate change to biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, access to clean water and sanitation, to financial inclusion and gender equality - are represented in global marketplace, capital opportunities, and standard and policy-setting tables.

We are grateful to IDB Invest for inviting us to participate and for their support for the Impact Principles. We also enjoyed meeting with several other Impact Principle Signatories at the event.
