About the Panelists:
Diane Damskey, CFA, Moderator
Diane is the Head of the Secretariat, Impact Principles and a senior member of the team that developed the Operating Principles for Impact Management that established a framework to bring greater discipline and transparency to the impact investing market. She is Head of the Secretariat, responsible for the administration, promotion and growth in the number of impact investors adopting this standard. She leads the engagement with private sector asset managers, asset owners, wealth managers and family offices on the Impact Principles. Prior to joining IFC, Diane was an Adviser to the Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C., where she led initiatives to promote private sector investment in emerging markets.
Diane joined the World Bank following over 25 years’ experience with private sector financial institutions. Diane began her career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust, managing banking relationships in North Africa, and negotiating the Kingdom of Morocco debt restructuring. She then became a member of the Troika at Lehman Brothers, advising on the debt restructuring for the Republic of Venezuela, and then managed debt repurchase programs for Hungary and Russia at the First National Bank of Chicago. Diane has held several senior roles with institutional and private client investment managers, including Credit Suisse Asset Management, Northern Trust, UBS International Private Bank, and JPMorgan. Diane holds a B.S. in Foreign Service, cum laude, from Georgetown University and M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School. She is a CFA charterholder.
Marc Moser
Marc is the Head of Impact at Lightrock. Marc joined LGT Venture Philanthropy in 2014 already in a dedicated role on Impact & ESG and then transitioned to Lightrock in 2018. He oversees Impact & ESG management activities of Lightrock globally, advising and working closely together with regional investment teams across Europe, Latam, India and Africa. Marc is also a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich where he previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Strategic Management and was involved in various interdisciplinary and international research projects in the areas of sustainability, economic development and CSR. His doctoral thesis focused on microfinance investments from a stakeholder-oriented strategic management perspective. Prior to his academic career, Marc worked for UBS AG and was a co-founder of a local lifestyle portal.
Marc earned his doctorate degree in Business Administration at the University of Southern Queensland and has a Master’s degree from the University of Zurich and Stellenbosch University.
Kristin Sadler
Kristin joined Quona Capital in 2018 as a Platform Associate and was promoted to Manager, Platform & Impact for the firm in September 2021. Kristin leads portfolio services at Quona, leveraging Quona's team, global portfolio, and networks to add value to the firm's community of CEOs and leaders. Kristin also leads Quona’s impact workstream, driving new initiatives and ensuring that Quona’s impact measurement is both integrated into the firm's investment process and analysis and is aligned with leading industry financial inclusion and social impact efforts. Prior to Quona, Kristin worked with Techstars’ inaugural impact-focused accelerator program to provide hands-on support to early-stage companies focused on global social and environmental impact. She also spent 3 years managing membership services with InterAction, an association of almost 200 non-profit organizations working in international development.
Kristin holds an MBA from The University of Cape Town's Graduate School of Business and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Alessandro Maffioli
Alessandro is Chief of the Development Effectiveness Division at IDB Invest. He oversees the organization’s Impact Management Framework, which includes a series of tools to measure and manage the development impact of investments from beginning to end. During his 17 years of experience at the IDB Group, Alessandro has coordinated impact evaluations of projects in areas including agricultural development, science and technology, small and medium-sized enterprise productivity, and access to credit. Prior to joining the IDB Group in 2004, Alessandro spent five years at the Research Center for Latin American Studies and Transition Economies of Bocconi University, where he focused his research on the economics of innovation and regional economics.
Alessandro holds a PhD in Production and Development Economics from the University of Insubria, Italy.
Nadina Stodiek
Nadia joined BlueOrchard more than 4 years ago as fund manager and impact manager in the Blended Finance Impact Management Team. After having focused on the blended finance mandates, Nadina specialized in impact management and is today part of the team responsible for the ESG & impact management practice including the development, implementation and oversight of ESG & impact management tools and methodologies across products, asset classes and impact themes at BlueOrchard.
She holds a Master's degree in Economics and Strategy for Business from Imperial College Business School in London and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Geneva.
